Fine Milling Trial Performance urban roads

1.0 Introduction

A fine milling trial was undertaken on two concrete urban roads within a London Borough to assess the process in terms of retexturing the existing surface and removing surface defects using fine milling. The two selected due to the presence of minor and major concrete surface deterioration as recorded by the Detailed Visual Inspection.

2.0 Trial Results

A successful fine milling trial was undertaken September 2015 by Power Plane Ltd. . This identified that the operation had successfully removed the concrete surface deterioration. A selection of before and after photographs are included below.

A Micro-Griptesting survey was also undertaken with a comparison to untreated sections of concrete surfacing. The results are outlined below:
